The arguments lasted for nearly two hours.*_ _*Senior advocates including Mukul Rohatgi, Abhishek Manu Singhvi, Salman Khurshid, and STFI’s Advocate-on-Record (AOR) K R Subhash Chandran, along with others, appeared on behalf of the teachers.*_ _*The advocates extensively referred to the RTE Act, the RTE Amendment 2017, the NCTE guidelines, and the amended NCTE guidelines of 2012.*_ _*They strongly argued that making TET mandatory for teachers appointed prior to 2010 is not justifiable.*_ _*The Hon’ble Court has taken all the submissions into consideration. The Government of Tamil Nadu has sought an extension of the time limit for conducting TET from 2 years to 4 years.*_ _*The teachers’ side was strongly represented during the hearing.
