Jharsuguda police engaged in an encounter with a gang of dacoits near Kadamghat under Rengali police station limits. Notorious criminal Jai Chauhan was injured in the firing and has been admitted to the district headquarters hospital. Chauhan, a resident of Brajrajnagar, faces over 13 criminal cases across Odisha and Chhattisgarh. While Jai was apprehended, his associate managed to flee the spot.
