Tragedy struck in Khaprakhol block of Balangir district where twin newborns died due to a lack of timely medical assistance. Due to the absence of a proper road, an ambulance could not reach the village, forcing family members to carry a pregnant woman on a makeshift stretcher for over 1.5 km. One baby was born at Khaprakhol hospital and the other at Patnagarh hospital, but both died while being shifted for further treatment.
