The Save Brahmapuram Action Council has launched an indefinite protest in Kizhakkambalam against the dumping of toilet waste into roads and water sources. The protesters are demanding the immediate renovation of a sewage treatment plant operating without clearance from the Pollution Control Board or the Ministry of Environment. The strike, held in front of a flat in Brahmapuram, was inaugurated by Vadavucode-Puthencruz Panchayat Vice President Deepa Biju.
