Three young Indian scientists, Abhyana Mehta, Ariana Agarwal, and Vivaan Chhawchharia, have won the prestigious Earth Prize 2026 for their innovative project 'Plas-Stick'. They developed a biodegradable magnetic powder from tamarind seeds that removes microplastics from water without using electricity. This low-cost filtration method is designed to help rural communities access cleaner drinking water. They are the first team from India to win this global environmental competition, which involved 23,000 voters and participants aged 13-19.
