A brutal murder by sand mafias took place near Bhimpur on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar. A youth named Prabhat Behera was allegedly called out from his home and killed by two brothers, Debashish Patra and Pritish Patra, along with their associates. The body was found under a bridge with severe injuries. The motive is suspected to be a dispute over sand smuggling accounts. Following the incident, locals blocked the Phulnakhara-Niali road for three hours, demanding the accused be brought to the spot.
