In the National Performance Grading Index (PGI) 2.0 for 2024-25, Barnala district of Punjab has secured the 3rd rank in India and 1st in the state. Barnala achieved a score of 461 out of 600, earning the 'Uttam 2' grade. The ranking is based on six parameters including infrastructure, learning outcomes, and digital learning.
