Police in Berhampur engaged in a double encounter with two suspects involved in the murder of plot businessman Sudhir Patra. The accused, Ranjan Mallick and Saroj Panda, were being brought back from Rajasthan on remand when they allegedly attacked the police and tried to escape by snatching a weapon near Ratnapur. Both sustained leg injuries in the retaliatory firing and are currently receiving treatment at MKCG Medical College and Hospital.
