A massive fraud of approximately Rs 30 crore has been reported in post offices across Nabarangpur district, Odisha. Former MP Pradip Majhi alleged that funds from various government schemes like MGNREGA were embezzled through dormant SB accounts using fake KYC and fingerprints. Following the allegations and an internal inspection, the Sub-Postmaster of Jharigam, Gouranga Sarkar, has been suspended. The fraud, involving around 25,000 beneficiary accounts, allegedly took place between 2022 and 2026.
