Senior BJP leader H. Raja has criticized the TVK-led government for negligence during the Vaikasi Visakam festival at Thirupparankundram Murugan Temple. More than 87 devotees fainted and several were injured due to overcrowding and lack of basic facilities like drinking water. Raja questioned Chief Minister Vijay over the lack of safety measures and criticized the HR&CE minister for failing to conduct field inspections during major festivals.
