A fact-finding team from the Congress party visited Nabarangpur to investigate the alleged torture of five farmers in Chandahandi. The farmers were reportedly forced to kneel on hot bitumen roads with nails placed under them by individuals claiming to be Bajrang Dal activists over cattle smuggling allegations. The Congress has demanded the immediate arrest of the culprits and threatened a mass protest if action is not taken by June 5.
