A severe Kalabaisakhi storm hit Cuttack city, causing widespread destruction with heavy rain, winds, and lightning. Lightning struck the newly built Cuttack Chandi temple, cracking its 'Dadhinauti'. Over 11 locations reported fallen trees, blocking roads and damaging vehicles. Half of the city remains in darkness due to snapped power lines and damaged transformers. Emergency services, including 11 fire department teams and 45 Tata Power teams, are working on restoration.
