The Punjab Cabinet, led by CM Bhagwant Mann, has approved an amendment to Rule 31 of the PAPR rules to simplify the regularization of unauthorized colonies. Colonies with at least 25% built-up area can now apply for regularization until September 30, 2026. Residential/industrial sectors will pay a 5% compounding fee, while commercial sectors pay 10%. Provisional certificates will be issued within 30 days of complete applications, aiming for full disposal within six months.
