The Punjab Vigilance Bureau arrested Assistant Sub-Inspector Gurjit Singh, posted at CIA staff Ferozepur, for accepting a bribe of Rs 1,30,000. The ASI had allegedly demanded Rs 2.5 lakh to avoid the arrest of a complainant's relative and facilitate bail in a criminal case. The deal was finalized at Rs 2.3 lakh, and the officer was caught red-handed while accepting the second installment. The ASI also claimed the money was for CIA Incharge Mohit Dhawan.
