1. Can you share more about the challenges you faced in the job market as a civil engineer and how you discovered ShareChat as a platform to showcase your mother’s work?
Becoming a Civil Engineer did not come easy for me. While I was pursuing my studies, my mother was working really hard to pay off my college fees, and she was the sole provider for our family. Even after securing a decent job, my salary still didn’t meet the expenses at home. I tried my hand at YouTube for some time, creating several channels on different themes, but I struggled to gain attention and engagement. Then one day, a customer of my mother’s sent us a picture with ShareChat’s logo. Initially, I didn’t recognize the logo, but upon exploring the platform, I installed the application. I posted one of my mother’s designs, and to my amazement, the post started trending at #1 for the first two days! That’s when I realized ShareChat could be the platform to showcase our work. It felt like all of my mother’s efforts and hard work had finally paid off!
2. How did the positive response and instant gratification from people on ShareChat motivate you to pursue your passion and establish Mana Kdai Centre?
Interviewee: The response we received on ShareChat was overwhelming and greatly motivated us. People loved my mother’s designs, and they started inquiring about our location. My mother has been running her business, Mana Kdai Centre, for almost 27 years, and the name holds a special place in our hearts. So, we decided to keep the name and restarted our business on a positive note with the support of ShareChat.
3. What role did ShareChat play in expanding your customer base beyond India, and how has it impacted your business as a boutique owner? How do you utilize ShareChat as a tool for marketing and customer engagement, and what strategies have been successful for you in attracting queries and orders?
ShareChat played a significant role in expanding our customer base beyond India. Through consistent posting and actively sharing our contact details with users, we were able to reach a wide range of demographics on ShareChat. Word of mouth also played a crucial role in our growth. We received our first international order from a customer named ‘Netu’ in Canada, who saw our designs and requested samples through WhatsApp. She was impressed and gave us a substantial order. ShareChat’s diverse audience and the ability to communicate in 15 regional languages helped us attract customers from various cultures and backgrounds. Having the right intent and providing a personalized approach to users have been successful strategies in attracting queries and orders.
