ShareChat Strengthens User Safety with SIM Binding Feature Rollout

ShareChat has rolled out a SIM binding feature as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen account security and enhance user safety across the platform.
With this update, if the ShareChat Android app is opened on a device that does not have an active SIM card, the user will be automatically logged out from all active sessions across devices and client types. The feature is designed to ensure that user accounts remain linked to a valid mobile connection, reducing the risk of unauthorized access and strengthening safeguards in situations where a device may be lost, stolen, or accessed without permission.
The update also strengthens ShareChat’s broader safety architecture by enabling stronger account verification signals. The rollout is being carried out in stages to ensure smooth implementation across the platform’s large and diverse user base. Additional product enhancements aligned with this initiative are expected to be introduced through phased updates in the coming weeks.
Through measures such as SIM binding and other ongoing safety investments, ShareChat continues to evolve its platform to promote responsible participation, strengthen user protections, and support a safer and more secure user experience for its community. These efforts are complemented by policies, user reporting tools, and collaboration with relevant stakeholders to address harmful behavior and maintain platform integrity.
