A major land fraud was exposed in Chantidih, Bilaspur, where prime land worth crores was grabbed using forged death certificates. The accused, Rajkumar Kenwat, claimed to be the heir of original owner Mahajan Kenwat by using fake documents. Investigations revealed that the death certificate records in the Municipal Corporation were fabricated. The SDM has now cancelled all mutations and 12 land divisions (batankans) from 2012 and 2024. All transactions on the 0.121-hectare plot are prohibited, and the administration has been directed to rectify the records or seize the land if no valid heir is found.
