A gang of seven people, including a woman, stole BSNL copper cables worth a significant amount by digging a 60-meter trench in Tindivanam's Nehru Street. The thieves misled locals by claiming they were repairing Jio cables. However, they accidentally cut a functional Jio cable, alerting technicians who arrived at the spot. The culprits fled, leaving behind 250 kg of copper wire. BSNL officials have lodged a police complaint, and CCTV footage is being analyzed to catch the suspects, who are believed to be former contract laborers.
