On the 80th Independence Day, Deputy CM D.K. Shivakumar announced several new welfare schemes in Bengaluru. Key highlights include the recruitment of 72,000 government vacancies within six months, the 'Yuva Udyoga Setu' for private sector jobs, and a monthly incentive of ₹2,500 for new jobs in 10 backward districts. For farmers, the 'Raitha Chaitanya' and 'Raitha Mitra' schemes were launched, offering technology integration and 50% subsidies on equipment rentals. Additionally, 7.5% reservation in professional courses for rural government school students and the establishment of five Global Technology Centres in cities like Mysuru and Belagavi were announced.
