Flood Disaster in Nepal: At least 150 people have reportedly died and around 1,000 are missing as devastating floods sweep across Nepal. Power plants and bridges have been washed away. As many as 133 Indian pilgrims travelling to Kailash-Mansarovar are reportedly missing. 2. Gandak River Water Level Rises: Following the floods in Nepal, the water level in the Gandak River has risen sharply. Thirty-six gates of the barrage have been opened. A high alert has been issued in eight districts of Bihar, including Motihari and Gopalganj. 3. Concern Over Missing Indians in Nepal: “Every Indian must be located under all circumstances.” From the President to the Union Home Minister, concern is growing over the disaster in Nepal. The Opposition has demanded urgent rescue operations. 4. Nepal Thanks India for Assistance: Nepal’s Prime Minister became emotional after India extended assistance following the devastating floods and expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. 5. China and US Also Offer Help: After India, China and the United States have come forward to assist flood-hit Nepal. The World Bank has also announced assistance for Nepal. 6.
