✨ WORD OF LIFE June 27 2026 Grow Closer to God Long before we search for God, He is already searching for us. Long before we speak to Him, He has already spoken to our hearts. Long before we take a step toward Him, He has already taken countless steps toward us. God always takes the first step. Many of us believe we must first become better before approaching God. "When I overcome this struggle, then I'll pray." "When my life is in order, then I'll return to God." "When I become worthy, then I'll draw near to Him." But the Gospel tells a different story. Jesus did not wait for Zacchaeus to change before entering his house. He did not wait for Peter to become perfect before calling him. He did not wait for the prodigal son to earn his way back home. God loves us before we deserve it. His love is not a reward for holiness. It is the source of holiness. Growing closer to God rarely happens in dramatic moments. Most often, it happens quietly. A few minutes of prayer. A verse of Scripture. A whispered, "Jesus, I trust in You." A moment of silence in His presence. Prayer by prayer. Day by day. Choice by choice. Today, stop trying to earn what God freely offers. Simply open your heart. Allow yourself to be loved.
