✨ Word of Life — April 20, 2026
If You Want It, Lord, We Want It Too
Trust That Surrenders
✨ The Message
Trust begins where control ends. Welcoming God’s will means welcoming the One who holds our life.
✨ A Deeper Call
We often want life to go our own way. But trusting God means believing that His will is not against us—it is for our good. Even when we do not understand, He sees what we cannot.
✨ What It Teaches Us
To welcome God’s will is an act of faith. It is choosing trust over control, surrender over fear. When we say “yes” to Him, we are not losing anything—we are placing our life in the hands of the One who loves us most.
📖 Scripture
“Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” — Matthew 6:10
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart.” — Proverbs 3:5
“All things work together for good for those who love God.” — Romans 8:28
🙏 Prayer
Father, teach us to trust Your will with our whole heart. Help us say yes to You, even when it costs us something. Give us peace in surrender and confidence in Your love. Amen.
💭 Live the Word
Today—accept one thing you would not normally choose and place it in God’s hands with trust.
💭 Truth for Today
God’s will is not against you—it is for your good.

Saint of the Day — April 20 | Saint Agnes of Montepulciano | A Life Drawn Completely to God
Holiness That Began Early and Endured
✨ Her Story
Saint Agnes of Montepulciano was born in 1268 in Italy. From a very young age, she showed a deep love for God and a desire for a life of prayer. While other children were still discovering the world, Agnes was already drawn inward—toward silence, devotion, and a life set apart.
At just nine years old, she entered religious life. Her commitment was not temporary or emotional—it was steady, intentional, and rooted in a deep awareness of God’s presence.
✨ A Life Transformed
As she grew, Agnes became known for her humility, discipline, and intense spiritual life. She was eventually chosen to lead a community of sisters, guiding them not by authority alone, but by example.
Her life was marked by prayer, sacrifice, and devotion. Many witnessed extraordinary signs connected to her life—moments that pointed not to her, but to God working through her. Yet she remained grounded, never seeking attention or recognition.
✨ What She Teaches Us
Holiness is not about age—it is about openness to God. A life given fully to Him, even from a young age, can grow into something deeply powerful and enduring.
✨ Deeper Insight
Saint Agnes reminds us that spiritual depth is not reserved for later in life. In a world that delays commitment, she shows the strength of early surrender. What begins with sincerity can grow into lifelong faithfulness.
📖 Scripture
“Let no one despise your youth…” — 1 Timothy 4:12
“Seek first the kingdom of God…” — Matthew 6:33
🙏 Prayer
Lord, give me a heart that seeks You fully. Remove distractions that pull me away from what truly matters. Teach me to desire You above all things and to remain faithful, not just in moments, but throughout my life. Amen.
💭 Intercession
Saint Agnes of Montepulciano, who gave your life to God from a young age, pray for us—that we may seek Him sincerely, remain faithful, and grow in holiness each day.
💭 Truth for Today
It is never too early—or too late—to choose God fully.
✨ Truths to Remember
• Holiness begins with a sincere “yes” to God
• Age does not limit spiritual depth
• Faithfulness grows through consistency
• A life rooted in God becomes enduring

📖 Today’s Gospel – April 20, 2026
Monday of the 2nd Week of Easter
John 6:22–29
They went looking for Jesus.
Not because they understood—
but because they had received.
They had seen the miracle.
They had eaten the bread.
They had been filled.
But Jesus saw deeper.
“You are looking for me
not because you saw signs—
but because you ate your fill.”
The problem was not their search.
It was their reason.
They were seeking what He could give—
not who He is.
Then Jesus said:
“Do not work for food that perishes,
but for the food that endures
to eternal life.”
Everything shifts here.
From temporary needs
to eternal hunger.
From what satisfies for a moment
to what gives life forever.
They asked:
“What must we do?”
Jesus answered:
“This is the work of God—
that you believe
in the One He has sent.”
Not performance.
Not achievement.
Belief.
Trust.
Relationship.
✨ Reflection
This speaks directly into how we often approach God today. It is easy to come to Him for help, solutions, and blessings—especially when life feels uncertain. But faith cannot remain at that level. Jesus calls us deeper. Not to use Him—but to know Him. Not to seek gifts—but to seek the Giver.
💡 Context (Important)
This moment follows the multiplication of the loaves. The crowd experienced provision, but missed the meaning. The miracle was not the destination—it was a sign pointing to Jesus Himself, the true Bread who gives eternal life.
💡 Truths to Remember
• Seeking God only for benefits leads to shallow faith
• Jesus calls us beyond temporary needs to eternal life
• Faith is not a transaction—it is trust
• The greatest “work” is to believe in Him
• True fulfillment is found in relationship with Jesus
🙏 Prayer
Lord Jesus, purify my intentions. Help me not to seek You only for what You can give, but to seek You for who You are. Teach me to trust You deeply and follow You with sincerity. Lead me from temporary desires to eternal life. Amen.

📖 Today’s Gospel – April 19, 2026
Easter Octave – Sunday
Luke 24:13–35
That very day—
two disciples were walking away.
Away from Jerusalem.
Away from what had happened.
Away from hope that now felt broken.
They were talking about everything.
Trying to make sense of it.
The cross.
The death.
The empty tomb.
Confused.
Disappointed.
Uncertain.
Then Jesus came near.
Walked with them.
But they did not recognize Him.
He asked, “What are you discussing?”
They stopped.
Sad.
They explained everything—
what they had hoped,
what had been lost,
what they could not understand.
And Jesus listened.
Then He spoke.
Not with emotion first—
but with truth.
Beginning with Moses and all the prophets,
He explained how everything pointed to Him.
Still—
they did not recognize Him.
They reached their destination.
He made as if to go further.
But they urged Him:
“Stay with us.”
So He stayed.
They sat at the table.
He took the bread.
Blessed it.
Broke it.
Gave it.
And in that moment—
their eyes were opened.
They recognized Him.
And He vanished.
They said to each other:
“Were not our hearts burning within us
while He spoke to us on the way?”
They got up immediately—
and returned.
Not away—
but back.
✨ Reflection
This Gospel mirrors something deeply human. We walk away when things don’t make sense. When expectations collapse, when prayers seem unanswered, when hope feels delayed—we begin to move in the opposite direction. But Jesus does not wait for us to return first. He comes toward us. He walks with us in our confusion. Even when we do not recognize Him, He is present.
💡 Context (Important)
This is the road to Emmaus—happening after the resurrection, yet before understanding. The disciples had heard the news, but had not yet believed. Jesus reveals Himself not immediately, but through Scripture and the breaking of bread. This points directly to the Eucharist—where He is still made known.
💡 Truths to Remember
• Jesus walks with us even when we do not recognize Him
• Confusion does not mean absence—He is still present
• Scripture reveals what we cannot understand on our own
• Jesus is made known in the breaking of the bread
• Encounter with Him turns us back toward purpose
🙏 Prayer
Lord Jesus, when I feel confused or disappointed, remind me that You are still walking with me. Open my eyes to recognize You—in Your word, in the Eucharist, and in the ordinary moments of my life. Turn my heart back to You. Amen.

A Shepherd Who Restored What Was Broken
✨ His Story
Saint Leo IX was born in 1002 in Alsace (modern-day France) into a noble family. From a young age, he was formed in both education and faith and eventually became a bishop known for his integrity and discipline. During a time when the Church faced serious internal struggles—corruption, misuse of authority, and weakened spiritual life—Leo was chosen to become Pope.
He did not seek power, but responsibility found him.
✨ A Life Transformed
As Pope, Leo IX worked to reform the Church—not through force, but through holiness. He traveled extensively across Europe, calling clergy and leaders back to integrity, accountability, and faithfulness. He confronted corruption directly, always aiming for restoration, not control.
His leadership was active, pastoral, and deeply rooted in prayer. He understood that true reform begins not with systems, but with hearts.

“Create in me a clean heart, O God…” — Psalm 51:10
“Be shepherds of God’s flock…” — 1 Peter 5:2

Love in Action
Love That Becomes Visible
✨ The Message
Love is not proved by words alone. What we do matters when it comes from sincere care for others. Even ordinary actions can carry deep value when they are done with real love.
✨ A Deeper Call
Jesus did not only speak about love—He lived it. He served, healed, forgave, and gave Himself completely. He calls us to a love that takes shape in concrete actions, not just intentions or words.
✨ What It Teaches Us
True love is visible. It shows itself in small, faithful acts done with sincerity. What seems simple can become powerful when it reflects the heart of Christ.
📖 Scripture
“Let us love, not in word or speech, but in truth and action.” — 1 John 3:18
“Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” — Matthew 25:40
“Serve one another humbly in love.” — Galatians 5:13

In the middle of the storm—
when everything feels uncertain,
when you’re trying to move forward
but nothing is working—
He comes.
Not after the storm ends.
Not when everything is calm.
Right there.
In the waves.
“It is I. Do not be afraid.”
Peace doesn’t begin
when the storm stops.
It begins
when you recognize Him.
