📖 Today’s Gospel — Monday, May 4, 2026 Monday of the 5th Week of Easter | John 14:21–26 Jesus said to his disciples: “Whoever has my commandments and observes them is the one who loves me. And whoever loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and reveal myself to him.” Love is not a passing emotion. It is lived, proven, and expressed in keeping His word. And the fruit of that love is extraordinary: Christ reveals Himself to the one who lives in obedience. Judas (not Iscariot) asks: “Master, what happened that you will reveal yourself to us, and not to the world?” Jesus answers not with explanation, but with a promise: “Whoever loves me will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our dwelling with him.” God does not remain distant. He chooses to dwell within the heart that loves Him. Then comes the promise of the Advocate: “The Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything and remind you of all that I told you.” We are not left alone. The Spirit becomes the teacher within, guiding, reminding, and forming us in the truth of Christ. ✨ Reflection To love Jesus is to trust Him enough to follow His word. And in that trust, something remarkable happens— God makes His home within us. This is not symbolic. It is real communion. The Holy Spirit sustains this relationship, quietly guiding us, bringing Jesus’ words to life in our daily choices. 💡 Context (Important) This passage is part of the Farewell Discourse at the Last Supper. Jesus prepares His disciples for His departure by promising the coming of the Holy Spirit. Judas’ question reveals confusion about how Jesus will manifest Himself. The answer: not through public display, but through intimate presence in those who love and obey Him. The Holy Spirit ensures that Christ’s teaching remains alive in the Church across every age. 💡 Truths to Remember • Love for Jesus is shown through obedience • God dwells in the heart that loves Him • The Holy Spirit teaches and reminds us of truth • We are never left alone in following Christ 🙏 Prayer Lord Jesus, teach me to love You through my actions. Help me to keep Your word with sincerity and trust. Come with the Father and make Your home in my heart. Send Your Holy Spirit to guide me in truth each day.
