The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Communications and Information Technology, chaired by BJP MP Nishikant Dubey, has summoned representatives from Meta, Google, X (formerly Twitter), and Snapchat for a meeting on August 3. The discussion will focus on digital platform regulations, safeguarding user privacy—especially for women, children, and farmers—and maintaining public order. This comes after social media was extensively used during the recent NEET paper leak protests at Jantar Mantar.
