Odisha is witnessing a massive surge in interest for teaching careers. For the 2026-28 academic session, B.Ed and D.El.Ed (CT) courses have received record-breaking applications. There are 45 applicants for every single B.Ed seat and 18 for every D.El.Ed seat. Specifically, 1,09,873 students applied for 2,450 B.Ed seats, and over 1.09 lakh applied for 6,550 D.El.Ed seats. Despite the completion of the application process through SAMS, students remain confused as the entrance exam dates are yet to be announced.
