The Institute of Sikh Studies New Zealand (ISSNZ) has achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first Sikh organization to be registered as a Private Training Establishment (PTE) under the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA). They received approval for a 'Certificate in Panjabi Language (Level 3)', a 60-credit program that contributes to NCEA qualifications. A thanksgiving ceremony was held at Gurudwara Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib, Papatoetoe, attended by MP Jenny Salesa and other community leaders. The initiative aims to preserve Punjabi language, Gurmukhi script, and Sikh heritage for future generations in New Zealand, offering both on-campus and online learning options.
