The incident occurred in Jamusahi village under Ranpur area, where locals used traditional occult practices like 'rotating a bed' and 'nail mirroring' to identify a thief after a gold theft. The elderly woman, Kuma Bewa, was physically assaulted based on these rituals. After being pressured to settle the matter locally, she approached the SP for justice.
