A 23-year-old newlywed, Sanju Kumari, was allegedly murdered by her in-laws in Ara, Bihar, just four days after her wedding on May 7. Despite receiving 4 lakh cash, a motorcycle, and other gifts, her husband Vinod Paul and his family demanded a gold chain and tortured her. Her brother claimed that after a threatening call from her mother-in-law, Sanju was killed and her body was hurriedly cremated before the family could arrive. Police have arrested the mother-in-law while others are absconding.
