With the 2019 Lok Sabha election just months away, BJP played a decisive masterstroke — 10% EWS Reservation for Economically Weaker Sections among General Category. 📌 Result? BJP secured 303 seats in 2019 — the highest ever tally in BJP’s history. There is no denying this truth: GC vote consolidation + EWS promise mattered. Many who were once rulers and kings are today categorized as MBC, SC, or ST. Reservation introduced by B. R. Ambedkar in 1950 was meant to last only for 10 years, with the expectation that it would automatically end in 1960. However, politicians have made more than 125 amendments to extend it, turning it into a political tool for vote-bank politics. The next expiry year for reservation is 2030.
