Heavy rainfall in Maharashtra has caused significant landslides on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway near the Khandala exit, leading to a complete halt in traffic. The landslide occurred on the newly inaugurated 'Missing Link' project, built at a cost of ₹6,695 crore, raising concerns over its construction quality. Additionally, 16 trains have been cancelled and 9 long-distance trains diverted as debris fell on railway tracks between Karjat and Lonavala. Restoration work is currently underway by the administration to clear the blockage and resume services.
