In its first major success since being formed, the Rairangpur police district in Mayurbhanj arrested three interstate dacoits planning a robbery. Following a tip-off from the Keonjhar SP, Bahalda police intercepted a vehicle during patrolling. While three suspects from Jharkhand—Mohammad Nafis, Sek Michael, and Sek Arshad—were apprehended, three others managed to escape. The gang was reportedly involved in several gold jewellery heists in Keonjhar.
