The Maharashtra Agriculture Department has banned the mandatory sale (tagging/linking) of non-subsidized fertilizers and micronutrients alongside subsidized fertilizers. Agriculture Minister Dattatray Bharne stated that legal action will be taken against companies and suppliers violating this rule. The Central Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers has also termed this practice illegal.
