The historic Bonbibi Puja has commenced in the Ajmalmari forest of Sundarbans, South 24 Parganas. Thousands of devotees, including fishermen and honey collectors, gathered at the forest temple seeking protection from tigers and crocodiles. Due to the location being a sensitive Royal Bengal Tiger habitat, the Forest Department and police have deployed heavy security.
