🍛🔥 *Jeera Rice & Dal Tadka – Simple Comfort Lunch*
🛒 *Ingredients*
*For Jeera Rice:*
➤ 1 cup basmati rice
➤ 2 cups water
➤ 1 tbsp ghee
➤ 1 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
➤ Salt to taste
*For Dal Tadka:*
➤ 1 cup toor dal (arhar dal)
➤ 2 cups water
➤ 1 onion (chopped)
➤ 1 tomato (chopped)
➤ 2 garlic cloves (chopped)
➤ 1 green chili
➤ ½ tsp turmeric
➤ 1 tsp red chili powder
➤ 1 tsp cumin seeds
➤ 1 tbsp ghee or oil
➤ Salt to taste
➤ Fresh coriander for garnish
👩🍳 *Instructions*
*Step 1:* Cook rice with water and salt until fluffy. Keep aside.
*Step 2:* Heat ghee in a pan, add cumin seeds, let them splutter, then add cooked rice and mix well to make jeera rice.
*Step 3:* Pressure cook dal with turmeric and salt for 3–4 whistles.
*Step 4:* In another pan, heat ghee/oil. Add cumin seeds, garlic, and green chili. Sauté for a minute.
*Step 5:* Add onion and cook until golden, then add tomatoes and cook till soft.
*Step 6:* Add red chili powder and mix well. Pour this tadka into cooked dal.
*Step 7:* Simmer for 2–3 minutes. Garnish with coriander.
