The naturally formed ice Shiva Lingam at the Amarnath cave has melted by over 90% within the first five days of the pilgrimage. Experts attribute this rapid melting to rising temperatures, heatwaves, low snowfall, and the heat generated by the massive crowds of devotees inside the cave. Despite the melting, the faith of pilgrims remains unshaken, with over 100,000 visitors in the first six days. This is the third consecutive year the Lingam has melted within the first week. The 57-day yatra, which started on July 3, is scheduled to conclude on August 28.
