On National Flag Adoption Day, the Department of Legal Affairs pays tribute to the Tiranga, a powerful symbol of India’s identity, aspirations and collective spirit. Conceived by Pingali Venkayya, the Tricolour has stood as a beacon of unity and pride through India’s journey as a nation. Adopted by the Constituent Assembly on 22 July 1947, the Tiranga embodies the values that define the Republic.
