The sub-registrar office in Puri, Odisha, is facing severe mismanagement as the record room has been locked for a week, causing hardship for hundreds of citizens. Important government records are reportedly being handled by daily wage laborers who are allegedly demanding bribes to find documents. Due to the lack of a Xerox machine in the office, critical registers are being taken outside for copying, leading to damage of old documents. Additionally, there are allegations of corruption and poor indexing of land deeds, leading to many documents being lost. The Sub-Registrar has promised a quick resolution.
