Proverbs 13:24 He that spareth his rod hateth his son: But he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes. Gospel: Present days, children's behaviour are very painful to parents and the society. The cause of disobedience is, parents pampar their children. They are totally blamable. But the Bible teaches every father to be strict to their children to keep up discipline in his son's/ daughter's. life. Proverbs 13:24 _"He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes."_ What it means 1 "Rod" = discipline, not abuse In Hebrew culture, the "rod" _shebet_ was a shepherd’s staff. Shepherds used it to guide, correct, and protect sheep — not to beat them senseless. So this isn’t about physical violence. It’s about corrective discipline, boundaries, and training. 2."Sparing the rod" = neglect To avoid discipline when a child needs correction isn’t kindness. The verse calls it hatred because you’re letting them grow up without the guidance they need. No boundaries now = bigger pain later 3 "Chasteneth him betimes" = discipline early and diligently "Betimes" means early, promptly, or earnestly. Love acts quickly. If we do something that does not glorify GOD, it is definitely from the flesh. It is against the LORD. When we receive salvation by the grace of GOD, the HOLY SPIRIT comes and dwells in our inner man. Therefore, our actions and thoughts should be according to the guidance of the SPIRIT. JESUS CHRIST says that we should seek the kingdom first. What does that mean? Everything we do in this world should be the will of GOD. If we walk in the SPIRIT, we will automatically please GOD by obeying HIM and doing HIS will. We can fulfill what CHRIST says in this verse. John 3:5 "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God."
