The Andaman & Nicobar Administration set a new Guinness World Record on May 2, 2026, by unfurling the world's largest underwater national flag at Radhanagar Beach, Swaraj Dweep (Havelock Island), India. The Indian tricolour, measuring \(60\text{m} \times 40\text{m}\) (\(2,400\text{m}^2\)), was displayed by over 200 divers, including Indian Navy and police personnel.
Record Details: The massive 2,400 sq. m. flag was successfully deployed to promote the islands as a global diving destination.Adjudication: Guinness World Records adjudicator Rishi Nath confirmed the achievement and presented the certificate to Lieutenant Governor Admiral D K Joshi.Collaboration: The project was a collaboration involving Andaman & Nicobar Police, Forest Department, Indian Navy, Coast Guard, and local professional divers, Dive Andaman (I) Pvt.Ltd.Upcoming Record: A second attempt for the "Tallest Human Stack Underwater" (target 20m) is scheduled fortofay 3 May 2026, near the Swaraj Dweep lighthouse.Previous Record: The prior record was 2,027.70 square meters, set by Mohammed Al Moayed in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, on October 3, 2024.👆🇮🇳
