lan McEwan has used Briony's desire for a world "just so" as a surgical tool to criticize people's limited vision, as life's incidents and feelings are not monolithic. She processes every incident through the simplistic lens of heroes and villains. This approach is catastrophic, as real-life incidents are complex and messy. They extend beyond the incident and are complicated by historical facts, missteps, miscommunication, pride, attraction, irritation, and social context. Communication falters when truths and feelings are intentionally buried. The understanding of an incident can be fundamentally different for the persons involved and for the mere observer. When we factor in these complications, a simple misjudgement becomes a grim injustice to the individuals, based solely on visual appearances.

New world monkeys can’t distinguish between red and green. Humans can only see a tiny fraction of the electromagnetic spectrum, which we perceive as ROYGBIV—a combination of red, green, and blue. These unique combinations create approximately 10 million different colours.
But are these all the colours there are? Just as the New World monkey navigates a world it cannot know is stripped of color, we too exist within the narrow confines of our own senses, confidently mistaking our small sliver of the spectrum for the whole of reality. However, is this truly all there is? The truth is far more complex and incomprehensible.

GAILLARDIA is a flower that thrives in extreme conditions and less-fertile soil, conditions that would otherwise kill other plants. It remains altruistic by feeding its nectar to butterflies, bees, and other beneficial insects, and also serves its seeds from the dried heads.
For me, it stands as a symbol of eternal resilience, altruism, joy, and beauty.

Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck -
George and Lennie are two migrant workers who plan on owning their own piece of land with rabbits one day (livin’ off the fatta the lan). However, this dream will never come true as Lennie is endowed with immense strength and he fails to regulate it. One day, he kills a puppy because of his uncontrollable strength. Just then, Curley’s wife approaches him and allows him to caress her hair. Lennie again fails to regulate his strength and ends up breaking her neck. In order to save Lennie from a cruel death, George kills him with the Luger.
The central tragedy of the story is silly, and I like silly things :)

My two cents on the life of Shakuntala Devi -
The other day, I was going through the books published by the world-renowned Shakuntala Devi, also known as the human computer. I noticed that her books accurately reflect her life. For most of her life, she was engrossed in numbers, later she delved into astrology, and she even married a homosexual husband. Her life events are meticulously portrayed in her books, serving as a testament to the fact that everyone lives a unique life and to truly live that life involves appreciating its novelty, just as Shakuntala Devi did.

Life update-
Chronicles of the half-year that was. You know what else tastes the same besides the coffee? My routine. I think this five-slide post and tiny caption kind of say it all.
