A major scam involving fraudulent property registrations using fake NOCs has been uncovered in Khanna. Following a complaint by SDM Swati Tiwana, an FIR has been registered against four individuals, including a deed writer, property dealers, and a former sarpanch. Initial investigations revealed 35 fake registrations out of 80 suspected cases. The SDM has banned further sale or transfer of the disputed properties. It is suspected that this racket has caused losses worth crores to the Punjab government revenue.
