The Patiala House Court in Delhi has granted bail to Madhesh Shankar, alias Abdullah, arrested under the UAPA. Shankar was held in 2021 by the NIA for allegedly radicalizing youth via social media. After spending 4 years and 9 months in custody, the court granted relief citing the delay in the trial. Judge Pitamber Dutt noted that only 61 out of 151 witnesses have been examined so far.
