June 26 is celebrated as Shreya Ghoshal Day in the state of Ohio, USA, a tradition started in 2010 by then-Governor Ted Strickland to honor her contribution to music. Having started her training at age four, Shreya rose to fame after winning Sa Re Ga Ma Pa and debuting in the film Devdas. She has sung over 3,000 songs in 20 languages and won five National Film Awards.
