Kanpur Cyber Crime Team has busted an international syndicate involved in online fraud by creating fake websites of well-known companies. Four members, including a B-Pharma student and an AC mechanic, were arrested from a rented flat in Geeta Nagar. The gang used fake logos and promised credit card limit increases to dupe victims. Police seized ₹2.99 lakh in cash and a Mahindra 3XO car. Investigations suggest links to overseas fraudsters in Cambodia and Malaysia. The kingpin, Shubham Thakur, remains at large.
