In Sukinda block of Jajpur, Odisha, a 61-year-old well serves as the lifeline for over 70 families. Due to irregular government water supply, residents have installed 20-22 motor pumps in this single well to meet their daily needs. Each pump serves 3-5 families who share the electricity costs. Despite severe heat, the well remains a reliable source, maintained by the local slum residents after the TSRDS stopped its maintenance services.
