Eminent Odia litterateur, poet, and playwright Jagannath Prasad Das (J.P. Das) passed away at the age of 90. Born in 1936 in Puri, he resigned from the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) to dedicate himself to literature. He was a recipient of the Kendra Sahitya Akademi Award for 'Ahnika' and the Sarala Award for 'Priya Vidushaka'.
