Former Mumbai Mayor Hareshwar Patil passed away at the age of 86 on Wednesday morning. He was first elected as a Shiv Sena corporator in 1985 and served multiple terms. During his tenure as mayor, he was instrumental in the renovation of the BMC heritage hall and improving the city's asphalt roads. He was also known for his proactive response during the 2002 Ghatkopar landslide.
