Kushinagar Police in Uttar Pradesh rescued 453 Nepalese citizens held hostage under the pretext of fake jobs. Acting on a tip-off from the Nepal Embassy, police raided a facility on Mathauli Road where a gang was extorting money ranging from 7,000 to 1 lakh rupees from victims. The police arrested 10 people, including 9 Nepalese and 1 Indian national. All rescued individuals have been safely sent back to Nepal in private buses.
