Two Sikhs of Jalandhar origin have achieved significant milestones in UK politics. Kulwinder Singh Johal has become the first turbaned Sikh Mayor of Leicester, while Preet Kaur Gill has been appointed as a Junior Health Minister in the Keir Starmer government.
