The Subarnarekha multipurpose irrigation project in Odisha remains incomplete after 37 years. Originally budgeted at 4,410 crore INR, the cost has escalated to 10,000 crore INR, with 7,000 crore already spent. Despite this, only 30% of the canal work is finished due to land acquisition issues in Mayurbhanj and Balasore districts. While 70,000 hectares are currently irrigated, the government aims to cover the remaining 39,000 hectares by 2029. https://sambad.in/special/seruni-subarnarekha-irrigation-project-work-11888517 #creator program
